more RSS news feeds?

Ok, I think we may have gone a little ovrboard on the RSS thing. It's great, but it's also just news and words in different formats. I think once you've subscribed to one feed you pretty much know how to find others and add them to your account. I'm hoping there are more productive "things" from here on out.

Bloglines/RSS!

Man, once I got going subscribing to the feed sites that I liked, it was hard to stop. I like the idea, but I think I'm still going to go to my normal websites, because I like the pictures and stuff. The coolest feed I found was one where you get updates on all the earthquakes that occur in the world instantlyhttp://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/catalogs/eqs7day-M5.xml. Overall, Bloglines is very cool, I think I just got too much on mine.

Technology

Last week my good pal John D told me what RSS feeds were. For the longest time I had seen them on news sites, sports sites and any other type of informational website out there. He showed me how setting up an RSS feed account is like getting all the information that is important to you presented to you in a quick, concise way. Instead of having to go to 20 different websites to glean all your information every day, all you have to do is set up an account with an RSS website and subscribe to whatever websites you want the latest information from. Then you can just log onto that one website and read just what you want to read!

flickReplacr

The coolest tool/mashup I could find was FlickReplacr. As it says on the webpage, it replaces any text on any website with a link to a corresponding picture on Flickr. It works fairly well. The bad thing is that it only replaces the chosen word with a link to the picture, and not the actual pic itself. Still it's a fun idea that anyone should check out, it just needs some extra work.

easiest and hardest HABITS!

Learning is great at every stage of life. It would definitely help to follow these 7.5 steps to continue learning all your life. I think the first habit of lifelong learners is the easiest to accomplish. Setting A Goal is an important part of almost anything you do. This way you have something to shoot for. The hardest habit to attain is Play. When I get to playing, I don't like to stop and then start learning again!
